The Question
"The most important journey you will ever take is the one that leads you back to yourself."
— Rumi
A School of Thought for people who have stopped searching outward — and are ready to design inward.
Most programmes tell you what to do. They give you a framework. A strategy. A set of steps. And for a while, that feels like progress.
But there is a different kind of person — and perhaps you are one of them — for whom the real question is never about the steps. It is about the direction. Not "what should I do next?" but "inquiring
That is the question What Next is built for.
We do not sell frameworks. We hold a space for the questions that matter most — and we walk through them with you.
The people this is for
You are experienced. You have built something — a career, a reputation, a life that looks, from the outside, like it is working. You are not in crisis. You are inquiring, asking.
Something is shifting. AI is rewriting the architecture of work. The things that defined your professional identity are being renegotiated. And rather than panic — which would be understandable — you are pausing, responding to the deeper question. Choosing to design what comes next rather than simply react to it.
That pause is not a problem to solve. It is a signal. It is where the real work begins.
WHAT NEXT exists for that person. The Invisible Applicant — invisible not because of their lack, but because of their depth. The Career Changer who knows that the next chapter has to be built on different foundations. The Almost-There who is close, and knows it, and yet something is still not quite right. The Questioner, who has always suspected that the map everyone is following is not, in fact, the territory.
The three pillars
What Next is a School of Thought at the intersection of three disciplines. Not in any order. In this order.
01 — Philosophy
The foundation. The questions that underpin everything. Rooted in Advaita Vedanta, ontological inquiry, and the wisdom traditions that have always known: the answer was never outside.
02 — Leadership
The applied domain. Where inner clarity becomes outer impact. We work with people who understand that real leadership always starts with the self.
03 — Intelligence
Not the tool. The disruption. AI is the pressure that makes the old questions of purpose newly urgent. We meet it as a philosophical challenge, not just a professional one.
The principle behind the model
What Next is inspired by Aravind Eye Care — founded by Dr. V (Dr. Govindappa Venkataswamy ) on three commitments: universal access regardless of ability to pay, uncompromised quality, and self-reliance.
Premium programmes fund open access. The free work and the paid work are not a funnel. They are two expressions of one mission. One pays for both.
This is how we build for the long term — not charity, not exclusivity, but a self-sustaining system that serves everyone.
Raghavendra Mithare, PCC — the founder
Ragz did not start What Next because he had all the answers. He started it because he kept being asked the same question — by colleagues, by coachees, by people he mentored across three decades of professional life — and he realised that nobody was holding the space for it honestly.
He is a PCC-certified executive and leadership coach, entrepreneur, thinker, photographer, student of philosophy, and published author. His photography has been seen over two million times on Unsplash. He has sat with leaders navigating AI transformation, career reinvention, and the kind of existential recalibration that no LinkedIn post can quite capture.
But more than the credentials, he has lived the question. He knows what it is to be high-functioning and quietly uncertain. To have built a life that makes sense on paper and to feel, nonetheless, that something is not yet said.
What Next is his answer to that — built carefully, built slowly, built to last.
What Next operates alongside The Bystander — a free community of curious professionals asking better questions. The Bystander is where the thinking is open and accessible. What Next is where the serious work happens. Both are part of the same School of Thought.
The journey of What Next moves from searching outward, to designing inward, to the final recognition — that you were always already it. That is the destination.
Tat Tvam Asi. That Thou Art. THIS IS IT.
